The regular euchre nights at the Queen and Railway Inn at St Columb remain as popular as ever, evidenced by the fact that £1500 raised by the events was donated to the Fund at the beginning of 2017.  Our thanks go to all the regulars for their generous contributions and to Landlord Nigel Barnes.  In addition to hosting the evenings, Nigel also made a separate donation to the Fund, having sold a large Easter Egg he had previously won.  Many thanks to Nigel – we are not sure we would have been as generous with that much chocolate!

We were touched to receive another significant personal donation to the Fund from Matt Chaffe.  Matt’s support of the Fund is all the more poignant because as a full-time wheelchair user himself, Matt has an intrinsic understanding of the many problems Adam faces every day.

Over £500 was donated to the Fund following the Clay Euchre League’s 2017 Charity Night.  Many thanks to all the members of the League, particularly to Mr Alan Martin, the League Secretary, and to Steve and Jackie Shaw, whose “Guess How Many Stamps There Are In This Jar” game proved to be a particularly good money-spinner.  And before anyone asks, no, we don’t know how many stamps there were in the jar…

Jackie Powell of the award-winning Trevella Caravan Park in Crantock, Cornwall, raised over £200 for the Fund by running a tombola and raffle, and all on her day off too.  Our grateful thanks go to her and all at Trevella Park, who also kindly supported us last year by donating a week’s stay at their fine park as a prize in Adam’s Raffle.

The regular Bingo Evenings at the Indian Queens Social Club continue to be well-supported by Bingo fans from all over the area.  The evenings are organised and run by Adam’s paternal grandparents, Pam and Richard Best (pictured below, with Adam).  This year the Easter Bingo raised a splendid £850 for the Fund.

Our good friends at TNT Promotions continue to support us through collections and the sales of their ever-popular glowsticks and make regular donations to the Fund.  Our thanks go to them and to all their customers.
