Angela Stevens continues to sell quizzes to her hairdressing clients and made another splendid donation to the Fund in January, this time of £160. Our thanks to them all, and as a special thank you, here's a history question for you. Who was England's first Tudor monarch? Click here for the answer.
Two more highly successful Bingo evenings in April and November at the Indian Queens Social Club raised significant sums for the Fund. The evenings are organised by Adam’s paternal grandparents, Richard and Pam Best, ably assisted by Jill and Patricia Green and Mike Bodiella and we would like to thank them and everyone who participated in the evenings’ entertainment. The proceeds of the first Bingo evening were boosted by a kind personal donation from Mr Matt Chaffe. Matt is a wheelchair user himself and with his donation and the proceeds from the Bingo evening, we were able to purchase a new exercise bike for Adam to replace one he had outgrown (see 2014 News for full details). Our thanks go to Matt for this most generous gesture.
Pam and Richard Best also hold regular euchre nights which have recently moved to the Queen and Railway Inn at St Columb and are proving to be increasingly popular. See The Queen and Railway’s Facebook Page for details.
Adam’s maternal grandmother Pam Best is not only an experienced bingo organiser but also makes a fine Cornish pasty and raised £63 selling her wares in Stratford-on- Avon while visiting Adam’s Auntie Andrea. Reportedly, the pasties went down very well with Andrea’s co-workers and several advance orders for the next trip have already been received.
